Thank
you very much, Billy, Buddy, Rally and Julie,
Senator Paissallaigue, Representatives Brown and
Mack, my good friends and colleagues on City Council
Larry Shirley…and Council Member Henry Fishburne.
What
a wonderful event for our city and what a remarkable
achievement that these men and women have brought
to us; to bring Charleston literally to the cutting
edge of information technology; and making it
available to every business in our community.
Leapfrogging ahead, if you will, of technology
and giving Holy City businesses a chance to be
contacted and engaged by any person and any company
in the world.
The
local flavor of this is so wonderful. Last Friday
morning at 7:30 AM, I was with Buddy Varn at a
group of neighborhood council Presidents. He's
the President of the McLaura Hall Neighborhood
Council, one of the Neighborhoods that Council
Member Shirley represents. Dr Maguire's Dad and
Uncle, and Aunts, and family have been very close
to my Family, and their service-their community
service to the Medical community in Charleston-is
Legendary.
So
we've got people with roots here and we've got
new people we welcome here, bringing this wonderful
new technology to our community; and we are so
proud of that, and proud of them.
And
it is now my pleasure, to help launch this site…
and with that…I just click…one two,
three, LAUNCH!
